Norm is from Northern Ireland originally and moved to Australia in early 2009. He has a Masters Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering and back in Northern Ireland he spent eleven years working in both hardware and software development for a multinational corporation in the telecommunications industry. In subsequent years he worked for a global non-profit organisation, looking after the IT requirements in their Sydney office and troubleshooting issues. More recently he spent several years as an IT Support Officer in a local school.

Norm is a Google certified IT Support Professional, an Apple-certified support professional, and is also certified by Google in Digital Marketing. You can read his blog right here. Norm’s Computer Services began life as Norm’s Computer Repairs at the beginning of 2016. The business was formed by Norm McLaughlin, offering computer repairs, services and upgrades, and IT support, in Sydney’s west. Starting with no clients other than a few friends and colleagues, Norm’s Computer Repairs grew rapidly over the following three years.

Anticipating a relocation to Brisbane, Norm rebranded the business as Norm’s Computer Services in early 2019, with the new name reflecting more accurately the breadth of services offered. By the time he made the move in mid-2019, he had completed well over 1600 jobs in Sydney, mostly on-site, but also providing remote computer support when required.

By the beginning of 2023, Norm had comfortably surpassed the milestone of 3000 completed jobs and continues to provide computer repairs and IT support to both small business and residential clients in greater Brisbane. He primarily services the south side of Brisbane, Ipswich, Logan and the Redlands and, even now, continues to support a number of Sydney clients remotely.
